TechEd was great. But it now feels like the Echo 2007 honeymoon is over, now we have the hard work of the marriage! The rush is all on to complete development, testing with select early adopters, and release on the 27th of July.

 

The main thing people asked about at the booth was migration from 2003 to 2007. I told them we provision sites, replicate out your design, workflow and content types to those sites and then imported content, sothere were a lot of interested people. Our biggest wow was for our ability to import from Lotus Notes, and our most in demand new feature coming in September, is our Public Folders to SharePoint Migration tool. Also got wows from developers for our ability to replicate SharePoint Designer Workflows anywhere.

 

Personally, I think the best features are the ability to manage changes between Test, Staging and Production, this should be part of any good SharePoint archtecture from the beginning, and our ability to maintain consistent content types across Site Collections is essential to make search really powerful.
